“Instead of the usual blank stories section, Facebook includes “ghost stories” of your friends that haven’t posted a story in a while when there are no stories available. When the user clicks on it it tells the user that your friend hasn’t posted to their story in a while.”

Facebook was catalogued by the UXP2 Lab over its “ghost” stories. According to the entry, when there are no stories available, instead of showing the usual blank stories section, Facebook includes “ghost stories” of friends who have not posted a story in a while; when the user clicks on one, it tells them that their friend has not posted to their story in a while.
