COKODIVE was reported to the Deceptive Design Tip Line over the unsubscribe link in its marketing emails. According to the report, the reporter’s email address was auto-subscribed to promotional marketing after a purchase, and when trying to unsubscribe they found the link labelled “unsubscribe” at the bottom of the email was the same colour as the email’s background. The reporter said they could only find the link by highlighting various areas at the bottom of the email.

“I purchased an item from Cokodive and as many online shops do, they auto-subscribed my email address to their promotions marketing. When trying to unsubscribe, I noticed the link labeled “unsubscribe” at the bottom of their email message is purposely the same color as the email’s background. I could only find the “unsubscribe” link by highlighting various areas at the bottom of their marketing email.”
